Clear, reliable answers to the most common questions about our products, quality, and policies.
GENERAL
What are peptides?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids, typically containing between 2 and 50 units. Because they are smaller and simpler than proteins, they act as targeted biological messengers in the body—signaling cells to perform tasks like regulating hormones, managing blood sugar, and repairing tissue.
What does “Research Use Only” (RUO) mean?
"Research use only" (RUO) means a product is intended strictly for laboratory study, scientific experiments, or discovery, and not for human consumption, clinical diagnosis, or treating patients.
Are peptides legal in Canada?
Yes, Research-grade peptides sold for laboratory and scientific research purposes are legal in Canada. Sentient Biogenix operates in full compliance with applicable Canadian regulations. All products are clearly labelled for research use only and are not sold or marketed for human consumption.
Where can I learn more about peptides?
There are many resources available on the internet, however, if you check our “Pep Talk” page in the tab at the top you will find some resources to get you pointed in the right direction. Feel free to reach out if you have any unanswered questions and we will do our best to assist you in your research.
PRODUCTS, USAGE & SAFETY
What is Lyophilized powder?
Lyophilized powder is a substance created through freeze-drying (lyophilization). The liquid product is frozen and placed under a vacuum, causing ice to turn directly into vapor without becoming liquid. This protects fragile active ingredients, stops chemical breakdown, and extends shelf life.
What does “reconstitute” mean?
Reconstituting peptides means adding a sterile liquid—usually bacteriostatic water—to a freeze-dried powder peptide so it dissolves into a usable liquid solution. Peptides are stored as dry powder because it lasts longer, but they must be mixed with liquid before use.
How should I store my peptides?
Proper peptide storage depends on whether the compound is in a dry powder (lyophilized) or liquid (reconstituted) state.Store dry powder in a freezer (-20°C or colder) for long-term use, and keep liquid solutions in the refrigerator (2°C to 8°C) for a maximum of 28 days. Always protect them from light, heat, and moisture.
How long until my peptide goes bad or expires?
To know if a peptide has gone bad, look for physical changes like cloudiness, floating particles, or a yellow/brown colour change in liquid solutions, or moisture and unusual clumping in powder form. Reconstituted peptides mixed with bacteriostatic water typically expire after 28 to 60 days, while unmixed freeze-dried (lyophilized) powders can last for years if kept frozen.
Are the peptides sold on this site intended for human or animal use?
All products sold on our website are intended exclusively for laboratory and research use. They are not to be used for human or animal consumption, drugs, medical devices, or any unapproved applications. By placing an order, all customers confirm they are fully informed about applicable government regulations, understand potential health and safety hazards, and accept full responsibility for applying appropriate safety measures.
QUALITY & TESTING
How do you test your products?
Every batch we carry is third-party tested by an independent laboratory. A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is available on each product page showing purity levels, peptide sequence confirmation, and batch number. We do not sell any product that has not passed independent testing.
What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA)?
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) for peptides is an official laboratory report—usually generated via High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Mass Spectrometry—that verifies a specific batch’s molecular identity, purity percentage, and net peptide content. Legitimate COAs should always match the exact lot or batch number of the product.
