Why we picked it

The only compound we sell
with a licensed counterpart.

PT-141 is bremelanotide: a seven-residue ring closed by a bridge between an aspartate and a lysine side chain, out of the University of Arizona programme that set out to build a tanning peptide and found something else instead. Its mechanism is one of the few here that is established rather than asserted — a melanocortin agonist acting centrally at the MC3 and MC4 receptors, which Molinoff and colleagues characterised in 2003. The FDA approved it as Vyleesi in 2019.

That approval is why this is the one compound in the catalogue where a manufacturer’s own label exists to check a supplier against — the formula line can be read straight off an FDA document rather than taken from a vendor catalogue. The certificate is a supplier one rather than one we commissioned, and we say so: the laboratory is not ours, but the batch code on it is the code printed on the tray our own vials came in. It carries identity against CAS and formula, measured content against the label claim, bacterial endotoxin, and a sterility assay.

Worth knowing before you order: the approval is for women only, at a dose well below what this market sells, and the manufacturer’s own label records nausea in 40% of trial participants against 1.3% on placebo, a blood-pressure rise after every dose, and a cardiovascular contraindication. The profile leans on that label throughout.

The certificate register

Do not take our word for any of it.

Every certificate we hold is published with the laboratory that issued it, the company that commissioned it, and the lot it was drawn from — and where the lab hosts its own copy, we link straight to it.

  • ✓Purity and content measured on every certificate, by HPLC.
  • ✓Verified at source — the button opens the report on the laboratory’s system, not ours.
  • ✓Gaps shown honestly. 6 products have no certificate yet, and the register says so.
  • ✓Batch testing on receipt is being set up, so each batch will carry two certificates.
